On April 29 all roads led to the annual Afro Jazz and Soul Picnic.
A large number of jazz lovers braced the cold weather of Saturday afternoon and attended the event which was held at Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa.
Maleh, Amanda Black, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Vusi Nova and the Muffinz are the mainstream acts who performed on the day; they were supported by a number of upcoming artists.
The jazz picnic included a arts and craft pop-up market, where patriots could shop for their favourite items and support upcoming entrepreneurs.
According to Tembisan businessman Hlogi Makau, the event is founded on the aim of celebrating International Jazz Day, and its main goal is to grow and be recognised alongside other major jazz platforms on the international jazz calendar.
