12 lucky MTN customers won prizes that ranged from a R400 000 cash prize, R1 million cash prizes, 4 x Mercedes Benz GLC, 4 x BMW X5 and a grand prize of a house worth R3 million or its cash equivalent for participating on the online quiz competition.
“MTN has been encouraged by the overwhelming participation on the Upstream competition and wishes to congratulate the winners and thank those who took part in this exciting initiative. MTN Upstream is testament of our unwavering quest to become a leading player in the digital space and offer our customers compelling and exciting propositions in this realm.
Luthando Sitatela from Gauteng is the winner of the grand prize which is a house worth R3 million. The ecstatic Sitatela is unemployed and was looking for a job at the time she was informed she is the winner of the grand prize.
“I was looking for a job when MTN called me to inform me that I was the winner of the grand prize. I missed the actual call from MTN, and called back hoping that the call might be from a prospective employer as I am in the market for a job, only to find out that it’s a life changing call informing me that I am the winner of this grand prize. I am so thankful to MTN for granting us this opportunity and I would like to encourage other customers out there to participate on these online competitions as this might be one way of realizing their dreams,” says Sitatela.
The Upstream competition was launched in October last year and closed at the beginning of February 2017. This knowledge-based competition, which attracted in excess of five million participants, rewarded customers with points for each correct answer and bonus points for getting a stipulated number of consecutive answers correct.
